THIS WORK IS PERSONAL.
The Mayor Harold Washington Family Action Coalition was founded by his family to carry forward a legacy that ended far too soon, but never stopped belonging to the people.
We believe the best way to honor that legacy is not simply to remember it, but to put it to work, by opening doors, developing young leaders, and creating opportunities for the next generation.
We're still here. And the work continues.

Our vision is to establish a permanent MHWFAC Youth & Community Center, a place where youth, families, and community members can come together to learn, lead, create and build.
We envision a space where FAC Youth Council can grow, Youth can connect with mentors and opportunities, community initiatives can take shape, and families can access programs and resources that strengthen their future.
This is what we're building toward. A home for the work, the community, and the next generation of leaders.
